The Fishing: It is a common theory in fishing that brown trout do not jump when hooked. Our experience is that the unique brown trout in the vicinity of the lodge almost always jump when hooked; a rare and exciting brown trout behavior! These fish are descendants of early 20th century transplants from Scotland, and are reminiscent of salmon in their fight and jump, German browns in their stealth territoriality, and small mouth bass in their fly preference.
It took many years to discover the approaches to hooking these beautiful wild brown trout, and we have learned from experience what 'cards to play'. We provide all necessary flies, rods, leader, tippet, and fly-fishing know-how to put you in the right place, at the right time, to combat these unique fish. We tie our own flies in the main lodge, and love to help our clients explore the art of fly tying under our supervision and guidance! There is nothing more rewarding to the angler than hooking a once in a lifetime fish on a fly that he/she has developed with their own hands!
Added in 2008! – 2 Inflatable drift boats capable of carrying 2 fishermen and a guide.
