No one is exactly certain where Patagonia begins or ends. Patagonia is neither a political or geographical location, although it is generally considered to be the area of Chile and Argentina below the 40th parallel of south latitude. Our lodge is a quaint hand-hewn Cyprus timber structure nestled in the heart of Patagonia. In this region of Chile, the brown trout jump, the locals ride horse back, and the Andes Mountains present themselves in full autumnal splendor during the month of March…prime time for visiting this breathtaking country!

The Country: Chile borders Argentina to the west, dividing Patagonia with the Andes Mountain Range, complimented with glacial peaks, volcanoes, and sheer mountain vistas. Chile is a safe and evolving country, offering its visitors quiet simplicity, complimented with a strong sense of deep-rooted local heritage. We operate our lodge and guided trips by working closely with regional Chilean licensing agencies, and offer our travel services to visitors as professionally licensed guides and hosts.

Our trips are focused on angling parties, as well as offering unique experiences for non-angling guests. It is typical for guests to request different experiences, each day, to maximize and embrace their visit to this amazing region of South America. It is our goal to show you what life might have been like in the 'old west' 100 years ago: dirt roads, undisturbed temperate rain forests, primitive lifestyles, and exceptional fishing, along with comfortable accommodations and professionally licensed guides.

The Lodge: Las Torres Lodge was established over 40 years ago by the same family who operates this private estancia today! The Galvez family homesteaded this land with ranching and family outings in-mind. This Chilean estancia is a working sheep and cattle ranch consisting of 6,000 acres of private land to explore and fish. Within the boundaries of the lodge flows the Rio Trevioso, and its' headwaters Lago Los Torres (Lake of the Towers). These waters are the ultimate setting to challenge the modern fly angler with unique approaches to catching wild Chilean brown trout in their gorgeous and wild surroundings.

Within a five minute drive from the lodge is the magnificent Cisnes River (River of the Swans), a classic freestone glacial river flowing from its origin near the Argentina border to the rugged Chilean coastline. On any given day, we invite you to accompany us to experience breathtaking scenery, unspoiled fishing, and exceptional guiding in these challenging freestone waters.

At days end, we return to the lodge for a relaxing taste of full-bodied Chilean wine, a locally prepared meal, and conversations of the day on the river and of the days to come. We typically end the day by sharing the splendor of the unique southern constellations before retiring to private rooms. In the morning, we eat a full breakfast, gather our gear, and prepare for the next chapter in exploring Patagonia…together.
